About Human Habits
Why Human Habits?
What Are We, Really?
Human habits are the ways we lived for thousands of years as a species — long before constant stimulation, artificial environments, and chronic stress became the norm.
Our Foundations
The Habits That Make Us Human
01
Natural Rhythms of the Universe
When we live in harmony with circadian rhythm, our cells receive the right signals at the right time — supporting hormone balance, energy, and deep rest. Morning and evening light help regulate serotonin and melatonin, while excessive artificial light disrupts these vital processes.
02
Grounded to the Earth
Through seasonal, local foods, herbs, and foraging, we reconnect to our eco-region. Nature provides what we need, when we need it. Seasonal foods help counterbalance the qualities of each season, supporting resilience and reducing illness during times of transition.
03
Practices That Make Us Feel Alive
The habits that invite joy, connection, curiosity, and meaning. By intentionally engaging in positive stressors (eustress), we build resilience and become better equipped to navigate life's inevitable challenges.
04
Fasting & Feasting
The natural rhythms of fasting and feasting support cellular repair, metabolic flexibility, and detoxification.
05
Mindfulness & Intentional Living
Presence and intentional living — qualities that were once woven naturally into daily life, before distraction became constant.
Mi Casa, Su Casa
We have a few intentional spaces around The Hub to connect & collaborate with other people — or to sit & enjoy some quiet time alone. Bring a book, a journal, a friend, and enjoy.
Ayurveda teaches us it is as important how we eat (mindfully, without distractions), as what we eat
